Safari World is approximately 40 kilometres away from the Bangkok city centre. Before visiting this wildlife wonder, you must take into account the route and mode of transport available for your convenience. While there are several ways to reach Safari World Bangkok, one of the most convenient ways to get to the park is by taking the BTS Skytrain, combined with a ride in the public buses. Not only is this route efficient, but it also helps you enjoy a taste of the local life in the city.
There are no BTS stations located near the Safari World Bangkok. However, the closest station to the park is the Mo Chit BTS Station, situated around 26.8 kilometres away. Starting your trip this way makes it easy to go from train to bus before beginning your important safari adventure.
Here is how you can go to Safari World Bangkok by BTS:
- Choosing Your BTS Starting Point:
Get to the BTS Skytrain in Bangkok, depending on where you checked in. Head to either the Mo Chit BTS Station or the Chatuchak Park MRT Station. Additionally, these stations are very near to each other, allowing you to adjust your travelling schedule accordingly.
- Exiting the BTS and Orientation:
Once you get to your specified exit, it should be either exit 1 or 3. You will exit Chatuchak Park, which is opposite Chatuchak market and come alive on weekends with small bazaars.
Chatuchak bus station no.2 is just a short 300-metre walk away from the exit. A pro tip for first-timers: make sure that you are headed to Chatuchak Bus Station 2 and not the Chatuchak bus terminal. Their names may seem alike, but they come from different places.
- The Journey to Fashion Island Mall:
You have the option of availing a ride on buses 26 or 96, depending on what suits you best. However, most people prefer the 26 bus, which has fewer stops and also provides air-conditioned comfort in the tropical climate of Bangkok. This part of your journey will take about one hour.
- From the Mall to Safari World:
Reaching the Fashion Island Mall is the last part of your journey to Safari World Bangkok via BTS. If you prefer a local flavour, you may take bus 197 (Songthaew), which takes approximately 20 minutes. The distance from here to the park is only 800 meters, which you can easily cover during a short walk.
